The nation’s leading dining rewards program, Rewards Network, has recently announced its participation in Feast Portland, the region’s premier culinary event taking place September 18-21, 2014. Every year the event brings together world-renowned chefs with the region’s finest ingredients to provide a culinary extravaganza, complete with food and drink tastings, hands-on classes, elaborate multi-course meals, and much more.
This year, Rewards Network will join the festivities by teaming up with Feast Portland to offer a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience—a dinner series prepared by two of the West Coast’s culinary stars. Highly-acclaimed chefs Chris Cosentino and Kyo Koo will work together to deliver a culinary masterpiece for the participants of Saturday night’s dinner series.
Master Chef and charcuterie ace Chris Cosentino was the winner of 2012’s Top Chef Masters, renowned for his mastery of offal cookery and frequently featured as a VIP guest on TV food programs. Koo is an all-star Portland chef who honed his skills cooking for several prestigious restaurants on the West Coast and abroad before landing as Bluehour’s Executive Chef.
Attendees will be served a multi-course meal by the two chefs, complemented by stunning wines paired for the cuisine by Anne Amie Vineyards, Chehalem, and J.K. Carriere. The dinner is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Bluehour, Bruce Carey’s swanky Mediterranean restaurant located in the heart of Portland’s Pearl District. Event tickets were initially offered through an exclusive pre-sale to members of Rewards Network’s Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™ Dining program, but ticket sales have just been opened to the public for $150 per person, available for purchase on FeastPortland.com.
Chief Marketing Officer of Rewards Network Kara Walsh shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming festivities, commenting, “Feast Portland is a great opportunity to bring together foodies, the best restaurants and our valuable partners for a rewarding experience. We are honored to host this premiere dining experience in conjunction with our partner Alaska Airlines, our program restaurant Bluehour, their amazing chef Kyo Koo, and Top Chef Masters’ winner Chris Cosentino.”
Rewards Network will also participate in the Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting, presented by its Mileage Plan Dining partner Alaska Airlines and taking place Sept. 19-20 from noon to 5 p.m. The walk-through tastings will feature food and drinks from Oregon’s premier artisans, wineries, and breweries, complemented by live cooking demos lead by the country’s top chefs to entertain the foodies while they enjoy their treats.
Rewards Network program restaurants Pacific Pie Co. and McMenamins will be among the coveted lineup to attend both days of the tasting, and Rewards Network will host a booth with giveaways and special offers for new members enrolling in its dining programs. Adding to the excitement, Chef Cosentino is scheduled for a can’t-miss cooking demo on Saturday’s Grand Tasting event. Friday and Saturday tickets are still available for $60 each on Feast Portland’s website.
Rewards Network is proud to support the festival’s efforts to help end childhood hunger, as Feast Portland donates net proceeds from the event to Share Our Strength and Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon. To further demonstrate its support, Rewards Network is offering attendees the chance to win a reward for sharing pics from the event. Each time a participant shares his or her Feast photos on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #feastselfiesweeps and tags @RewardsNetwork, s/he will be entered into a random drawing to win a $50 American Express® gift card.
