We use the most powerful banking security tools
Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance is required by all of the major credit card networks, including Visa/Mastercard, before any merchant can accept, transmit, and/or store credit card data. The Visa Global Registry of Service Providers listing serves to validate that Rewards Network is PCI DSS compliant and has met all requirements and industry security standards.
We implement robust data security measures
System and Organization Controls (SOC) reports are generated by an independent certified public accountant and provide valuable information that businesses need to assess security and privacy risks, among others, faced by their company. These reports help to determine that an entity is legitimate, secure, and operating in accordance with industry requirements.

This is what makes our DNA so unique.
What our restaurant partners are saying
Security and accreditation FAQs
How do you keep my customers’ data secure?
Rewards Network takes our data security obligations very seriously. We never receive the expiration date or security code from any credit card. We also do not process any transactions, as the incomplete data we receive is insufficient to initiate a transaction — by us or by a potential bad actor.
As an added safety precaution, Rewards Network never receives information directly from your restaurant (or any of our partners) about customer transactions. Instead, we receive our data directly from our nation’s most trusted card networks and payment processing networks. This drastically reduces the number of active connections we have, and it also eliminates the risk of unsecured systems at a partner restaurant.
Also, in order to receive payment card data from a card network or a payment processing network, you must meet rigorous security standards, against which we are annually assessed for compliance and weaknesses. Rewards Network is proud that throughout our history, we have continuously met or exceeded the security requirements required by the card networks to receive card data.
How do I know you are billing me for the right transactions?
Through our innovative partnerships and the dedicated work of our team of engineers, our proprietary technology seamlessly identifies our member transactions and rewards our members with awards. If you ever have any questions, our team of Client Success professionals are here to walk you through our billing process and answer any questions you have.
Do you have data breach insurance coverage?
Yes, of course! We, like all responsible and forward-thinking companies, carry extensive cyber insurance coverage as part of our corporate insurance portfolio.
What type of information do you store on my business and on my customers?
Our members have the opportunity to create an online dining profile and interact with restaurants. Aside from that, we don’t collect in-depth personal or financial information from your customers.
Regarding your business, we store things like contact information, content for marketing purposes, and other necessary data to keep our program running smoothly. We also follow certain audit and compliance obligations when storing important data and documents, such as billing statements and other important communications.
Do you keep my information confidential?
Yes. All of Rewards Network’s partner, supplier, and vendor agreements include stringent confidentiality and non-use obligations. In addition, prior to entering into any new partner, supplier, or vendor agreement, we first secure a non-disclosure agreement so that even our exploratory discussions reflect our commitment to the security of our network.
How do you protect my banking/sensitive information?
In addition to our rigorous security controls around payment card data, our team of engineers and security professionals work tirelessly to ensure the security of our network and internal environment. We are audited annually on our compliance with rigorous security standards and engineering best practices (that’s right, we undergo two annual information technology audits that assess our adherence to strict security standards).
What rights do you/your partners have in using my establishment’s name, images, and trademarked content?
In order to create your restaurant’s listing on our partner dining sites, to promote your restaurant, and to generally deliver our marketing services to you, your agreement with Rewards Network grants us the right to use things like your name, images, and menu. It’s important to note that Rewards Network and our partners only have the right to use these materials for the purposes of marketing your restaurant. We do not have the right to use any of your content for any other purpose. For more specific information, check out the IP section of your Rewards Network agreement.
How long will you store my content and personal information?
When your participation in our program terminates, your restaurant’s listing is removed from all of our partner sites and our members no longer receive rewards for dining at your restaurant. Our right to use your content to market your restaurant also terminates when your time on our program ends. For audit and compliance purposes, we retain some business information following termination, but this is deleted in the normal course of business in accordance with our document retention policy.
